Embrey
President
Trey rejoined Embrey
Partners in 2010 after operating a successful apartment redevelopment
business of his own for nearly a decade. He graduated from the University
of Texas at Austin with a BA in Economics and made his career in
real estate upon graduating.
Trey explains his passion for the business in this way: “I
am a builder by nature. I really enjoy seeing a project from the
infancy of an idea to the completion of a successful “deal”
that creates value. The process of designing both the product and
the experience of each project is personally rewarding."
Trey has directly contributed
to the development or redevelopment of over 4,000 apartment homes
in his career. Additionally, he has participated in the development
of a successful single family coastal community, the rehab of a
100 year old historic Texas hotel and numerous repositions of commercial
buildings.
His builder instincts, experience, and desire to make a difference
have also impacted his personal life. In the past, Trey has had
the honor to serve as a board member for Habitat for Humanity. Currently,
Trey serves on the Board of Directors for SAMMinistries and Furniture
for a Cause and is actively involved in assisting underserved youth

Michael
L. Elder
Executive Vice President of Finance
After 22 years in public
accounting, Mike Elder left his senior partner role to join Embrey
in January 2006. During his tenure in public accounting, Mike focused
on the operational, strategic and transactional needs of his closely
held real estate clients, including the Embrey organization. His long
standing relationship with our company has allowed for a smooth transition
into the EVP of Finance and Investments position, where Mike’s
primary responsibilities are corporate operations and finance.
About his decision to join Embrey, Elder explains, “There is
nowhere else I would have considered going but Embrey. Becoming part
of an entrepreneurial enterprise that focuses on delivering the highest
quality experience to our tenants and our financial partners was an
intriguing proposition. Now, several years into it, I know it was
a good decision for me. I work with a professional, collegial group
of individuals that are focused on superior performance.”
During his tenure with Embrey, Mike has successfully financed more
than $400 million in new project development and negotiated successful
transactions totaling almost $300 million. “I’ve worked
with some great people on both the creation and dispositions of deals.
It is very rewarding to conduct repeat business with banks, equity
partners, and buyers. Relationships are very important to our organization.”
Mike is a high honors graduate from the University of Texas at Austin
with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting. He began his career
in public accounting in the real estate section of a national accounting
firm. In 1985, he joined a boutique local firm specializing in real
estate development. By the time Mike left, the firm had grown into
one of the largest firms in the region. Mike is an active member of
